Summer at Woodlands Garden has been busy and beautiful. Perhaps you have noticed that the sunlight is more golden and it’s beginning to look like Fall is on the way. Autumn at Woodlands promises to be active and exciting and I would like to share some events with you and ask you to be a part of our growing cadre of volunteers. If you are not able to help with our Fall activities but would like to hear about future events, please respond to this email and I will add you to our volunteer database so you can receive emails about opportunities.

Currently, we are in need of volunteers to perform these important tasks:

Publicity – work with Claire to keep track of deadlines, write and distribute articles and press releases, post timely information to on-line news media, blogs and neighborhood list serves.

Facebook/Twitter/other Social Media – Post current information about Woodlands Garden.

In addition, volunteers are needed to help host the following events. Please don’t let the word ‘host’ frighten you. Hosts greet visitors, direct cars to parking, answer questions about Woodlands and help with set-up and clean-up. Claire and/or Ruby will be at these events to provide their expertise.

Wilderness Act Performance Series – Sunday, September 21, 2-4 p.m.

Sunday in the Garden – Sept. 28, October 5, 12, 19, 26, 1:30-4 p.m.

Fairies in the Garden – Saturday, October 18, 2-5 p.m. This is a big, fun event and volunteers will scheduled in two shifts. The first is 1-3:30 p.m. and includes set up. The second shift is 3:15-5:30 p.m. and includes clean up. Ruby estimates that we will need ten people for each shift.

Now, in case you have not yet been inspired by all of these opportunities, I have one more. The volunteer gardeners will be holding a plant sale on all of these dates. They would welcome your help and even welcome help with Mid-Week Gardening.

So many wonderful opportunities! And the even better news is that there is no limit to how many events you may enjoy! Please email me with your choices and don’t forget to have your name added to the volunteer database.
